New Pope, Same old Sexism

With Pope Benedict XVI being called "Old School," I have this odd and sinking feeling that all progress made in the church in favor of women is going to go straight south. As it says in 1Timothy 2:11-14, "¹¹A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. ¹²I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. ¹³For Adam was formed first, then Eve. ¹⁴And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner." This passage is now going to be taken to its most divine extreme, and that makes me feel mass contempt for the Catholic women.

Perhaps history is a pendulum, with it swinging towards the conservative side for females, with the Harvard President saying that women are incompetent, and now this Pope speculation. To all the women reading this: you're equals. Never let anyone let you believe otherwise. Opression is a tool of the week.
